To record a meeting means to capture and document the audio, video, or written content of the meeting for future reference or review. Recording a meeting allows participants or absentees to revisit the content, clarify details, review decisions, or gather information that may have been missed during the live session.
Recording online meetings can be beneficial in various situations. Here are a few scenarios when you might consider recording your online meetings:
1. Documentation: Recording meetings can serve as a valuable source of documentation. It allows you to review discussions, decisions, and action items at a later time.
2. Absent Participants: When key participants are unable to attend a meeting, recording it can help them catch up on what they missed. They can review the recording to stay informed and contribute to future discussions based on the recorded content.
3. Training and Onboarding: If your meeting involves training or onboarding new team members, recording it can serve as a training resource.
4. Compliance and Legal Requirements: In some industries, regulatory or legal requirements mandate the recording of certain meetings. Recording meetings can help maintain compliance with regulations and provide evidence in case of disputes or audits.
You can also share a conference recording with another user. To do it:
1. Go to the Recordings section.
2. Right-click on the selected video recording and choose the Share file option in the context menu:
3. In the opened panel, select a group or private chat where you want to send the recording.
4. You will open the selected chat. If necessary, add a comment or other files, and click the Send button.
