Microsoft Teams relies on OneDrive cloud storage, which means it can't fully guarantee the protection of users' personal data from potential leaks. TrueConf Server, on the other hand, is deployed directly on your company’s infrastructure—giving you full control over your communications. With advanced media encryption, operation strictly within your corporate network, and local data storage, TrueConf ensures your private conversations stay truly private.
«TrueConf allows us to hold secure meetings with officials in different ministries, being sure that our data resides within the government network. With TrueConf, we no longer require any other video conferencing system.»
Dr. Vatthana N.
TrueConf uses SVC architecture to automatically adjust media streams for each participant’s device and network, delivering optimal video quality in every multipoint conference. This ensures smooth, high-quality collaboration experience.
TrueConf is easy to use and the quality is very good. In Germany there are high data safety requirements and there are only a few conference solutions left, while TrueConf delivered very good and flexible options.

Microsoft Teams offers limited functionality for video conferencing, supporting only a single conference mode with a fixed participant layout. TrueConf Server delivers flexible conference modes for any scenario, allowing full customization of video layouts, as well as advanced control over participants’ microphones and cameras.
«TrueConf helps us run effective video meetings. Depending on the meeting’s type, we select one of TrueConf ’s video conferencing modes and communicate without limits. Additionally, thanks to BYOD concept, there isn’t much need for purchasing additional video conferencing equipment.»
Jigme L.
Microsoft Teams follows a per-user subscription model with monthly fees, which can become increasingly expensive as your team grows. In contrast, TrueConf Server offers flexible annual or lifetime licensing and is priced based on the number of group conference participants — not the total number of users. This approach significantly reduces costs and ensures predictable budgeting as your organization scales.
We are using TrueConf for our weekly news show watched live by thousands of avid spaceflight fans on our YouTube channel. TrueConf is the only video conferencing software that is able to create a seamless streaming experience for our viewers by maintaining guests’ positions even when they join and leave the conference.

TrueConf Server is built for interoperability — offering support for SIP and H.323 protocols to ensure effortless integration with third-party video conferencing systems and corporate telephony. Unlike Microsoft Teams and other platforms that depend on extra tools or middleware, TrueConf connects you instantly and reliably.

No, Microsoft Teams is pure cloud-based software built to work with SharePoint Online and Azure Active Directory. While it is possible to gain some on-prem functionality in hybrid environments, the feature set of Microsoft Teams will be significantly curtailed.
1. Confusing file structure. All files uploaded to private and group conversations go to the shared file section of the channel. If you try to organize these files by moving into named folders, file links in conversations will break.
2. Limited number of channels. Teams limits users to 200 public and 30 private channels which is quite problematic for enterprises with many teams and departments.
3. Unintuitive navigation. You may find yourself clicking through multiple tabs and sections to locate something. And users with less technical knowledge might have trouble accessing certain features of the app.
4. Imperfect screen sharing. When sharing Teams call window or some other app on your desktop, the screen edges aren’t clearly visible. You can fix this by sharing the entire desktop, but this may violate your privacy. Plus, the app is a bit glitchy when trying to give screen controls to other participants during a conference.
5. Cybersecurity risk. Once you add users to Microsoft Teams, they automatically get full access to all channels and information exchanged.
Microsoft Teams free tier offers unlimited chats, audio and video calls, 2GB of personal storage, and 10GB for shared files. This platform integrates well with a wide range of team collaboration apps and can unite up to 300 users from inside and outside your organization into a single network.
Note that you can use Microsoft Teams Free for a one-year trial only if you haven't had a commercial Office 365 subscription. Otherwise, you’ll be redirected to a managed account for your existing plan.
Microsoft Teams supports the same user authentication technologies as Microsoft 365 and Office 365, including cloud (Azure AD) and hybrid (AD DS) scenarios.
• Cloud. User accounts are created and managed in Microsoft 365 or Office 365 and stored in Azure Active Directory (Azure AD).
• Hybrid. User accounts are managed locally in Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) forest.
